MAKER FAIRE
THE GREATEST SHOW & TELL ON EARTH
We are thrilled to announce that HOOPLA has been selected to exhibit at Maker Faire Bay Area 2025, a global celebration of invention, creativity, and hands-on learning.
Taking place September 26–28 in Vallejo, California, Maker Faire brings together hundreds of makers across disciplines—featuring everything from microelectronics and 3D printing to robotics, food, fashion, and more.
HOOPLA will be part of this vibrant showcase, sharing sculptural, sound-making wearable art made from reclaimed materials. Rooted in fashion history and fueled by sustainability and self-expression, HOOPLA invites everyone to take up space—and make some noise while doing it.
We are honored to be included in this celebration of innovation, imagination, and community.

HOOPLA WORKSHOP
Led by internationally published artist Perrin Marie, HOOPLA workshops are where art,
activism, and empowerment collide. Participants explore how fashion has been used to
both silence and amplify—reclaiming the hoop skirt as a site of power, protest, and
presence.
No experience is needed—just a willingness to take up space.
Activity
Participants in this HOOPLA Pop-Up will have the opportunity to create one of
HOOPLA’s signature headpieces. Crafted using scrap steel hoops from hoop skirts and
recycled plastics, attendees will explore several of the same techniques used in building
full hoop skirts—then translate them into their own bold, wearable HOOPLA headpiece.

🔸 16 Portraits by Artists Across Regions
🔸 12 Locations
This isn’t just an exhibition — it’s a reclamation, a celebration, and a call to action.
